Licensed Psychotherapist Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Provide inclusive, trauma-informed counseling services in a professional and caring manner to clients of Sanctuary Counseling
Provide culturally competent counseling for BIPOC, LGBTQ+ clients, and clients of size
Maintain mental health licensure, and abide by all related laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics. If provisionally licensed, maintain supervision requirements
Maintain regular, reliable attendance and arrive to work on time. Attend mandatory team meetings and training
Maintain prompt communication with clients, colleagues, and work-related contacts
Complete clinical documentation (i.e. progress notes, intake assessments, treatment plans, termination summaries, etc.) and collect payment for services in a timely manner. Keep client files accurate and up-to-date
Demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and ongoing effort to grow in providing competent, meaningful counseling services
Collaborate with colleagues to co-create a safe, inclusive environment that fosters anti-oppression work
Participate in 2-3 community outreach, marketing, and networking activities each month
Other duties may be assigned
Job Qualifications
Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work
Active mental health license in the state of Texas: LPC, LPC Associate, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFT Associate, PhD, PsyD
Maintain minimum caseload or higher (Part-time employment: 12 - 17 client hours/week, Full-time employment: 18 - 23+ client hours/week)
Some evening and weekend availability
Ability to comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain high standards for client confidentiality
Demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for social justice, cultural humility, and inclusivity
Demonstrate strong clinical skills (i.e. building rapport, client communication, treatment planning, case conceptualization, etc.)
Align with the values of Sanctuary Counseling
Experience providing mental health services
Strong problem solving skills
Aware of multicultural dynamics in the workplace
Have multicultural knowledge relative to service delivery and best practice guidelines through training, study, and/or lived experience
Demonstrate technological competence in use of email, electronic health records system, and telehealth system.
Commitment to providing anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, HAES-informed, anti-oppressive, inclusive services
Interest in co-creating a decolonized, connected community through working with Sanctuary Counseling for a minimum of 2 years
Have one or more clinical specialities (i.e. LGBTQ+, body liberation, couples, trauma, anti-racism and racial identity, gender identity, grief and loss, etc.)
